Sticks & Stones . . .
Verbal abuse, the most under rated form of abuse in our society today. The children's ditty "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me," is a lie from the pit of hell. Broken bones heal, but the wounds of words can fester for a lifetime.

Recently I was privileged to see God bring miraculous healing to one who was "nurtured" on verbal abuse. Her family continually told her that she was the abortion that went wrong. Her earliest childhood memories were those of her mother crooning her to sleep with the following ditty:

You ain't nothin' but a nothin',
You're not anything at all.
You're not a good thing
Nor a bad thing,
You're not anything at all!

Now in her 60's, she felt unloved by God and man. Through one of my sermons God exploded a glorious revelation of His unconditional love into her heart. Words cannot convey the excitement she had as she shared this glorious breakthrough to me. It's never too late.
